More Than an Online Course
Anyone can complete an online training course. Becoming a confident investigator happens afterwards. It's when you're preparing for your first investigation. When you're unsure whether you've identified the real contributing factors. When you're writing findings that may be challenged by management, regulators or legal representatives. That's where most investigation training ends. This program begins. The ICAM Lead Investigator Mentored Program combines the complete ICAM Lead Investigator Course with 12 months of direct mentoring from Bruce Walpole, giving you ongoing support as you develop real investigation capability, not just knowledge of the ICAM model. Whether you're conducting your first workplace investigation or leading complex incidents months after completing the course, you'll have an experienced investigator available to help you build confidence, challenge your thinking and strengthen your investigative approach.
What You'll Receive
Everything you need to become a confident and capable workplace investigator.
Complete ICAM Lead Investigator Course
Everything included in the ICAM Lead Investigator Course, including: ✓ 11 comprehensive learning modules ✓ Practical investigation exercises ✓ Investigation templates and resources ✓ AI investigation tools and guidance ✓ Lifetime access to all course content ✓ Certificate of Completion
12 Months of Personal Mentoring
For the next 12 months you'll also receive direct access to Bruce Walpole for practical investigation guidance. Support includes: ✓ Assistance planning workplace investigations ✓ Guidance applying the ICAM methodology to real incidents ✓ Advice preparing for investigative interviews ✓ Help analysing evidence and identifying contributing factors ✓ Feedback on investigative reasoning and findings ✓ Assistance developing practical recommendations ✓ Discussion of difficult or unusual investigation scenarios ✓ Ongoing Investigation Insights and professional resources
Learn From a Career Investigator
Unlike most investigation training, this program has been developed and is personally mentored by an investigator whose profession has always been investigation. Your mentor, Bruce Walpole, brings more than 20 years of frontline investigative experience, including: ✓ Detective Sergeant – Queensland Police Service (Criminal Investigation Branch) ✓ Senior Investigator – Workplace Health and Safety Queensland ✓ Electrical Safety Manager (Investigations) – Electrical Safety Office Queensland ✓ HSE Investigations Officer – Snowy Hydro 2.0 ✓ HSE Manager overseeing investigations within major infrastructure construction ✓ Author of four investigation books ✓ Founder of QualSafe Investigations ✓ Experience investigating fatalities, serious injuries, electrical incidents, regulatory matters and complex workplace events Every lesson, discussion and mentoring conversation is built on practical investigative experience, not theory alone.
How the Mentoring Works
Your mentoring is provided personally by Bruce Walpole throughout the full 12-month mentoring period. Questions are primarily managed by email, allowing you to seek advice whenever it suits your investigation. Where appropriate, more detailed discussions may also be conducted via Microsoft Teams or telephone by mutual agreement. The mentoring is practical, flexible and focused on helping you apply what you've learned within your own workplace investigations. To ensure every participant receives meaningful support, mentoring is provided on a reasonable use basis. The mentoring service is designed to support your professional development and investigative capability. It does not include conducting investigations on your behalf, preparing investigation reports, reviewing extensive confidential organisational documentation or providing legal, industrial relations or employment advice.
Continue Learning Long After the Course Ends
Most investigation courses finish when you complete the final lesson. This program doesn't. Over the following twelve months you'll continue developing your skills while applying the course to real workplace investigations. As new situations arise, you'll have ongoing access to practical guidance from someone who has spent a career investigating complex incidents. Because organisations don't simply need people who can complete an ICAM analysis. They need people who can investigate. The ICAM Lead Investigator Mentored Program is designed to help you become one.
